An Immune Boosting Winter Season Meal

I can remember when I was a child, my mom would make me Chicken noodle soup whenever I would have a cold.  Her amazing recipe would just warm my sore throat, and help relieve my stuffy nose, and cough.  It would just make everything better. I’ve noticed over the years that this special soup is every parent’s go to meal for their sick child or loved one.  So, what is most beneficial about this soup when it comes to treating a cold or flu?

I did my research and come to find out that the Immune System is made up of Amino Acids which is what makes up Protein. Anytime when fighting a cold, it’s always good to eat lots of Protein to help boost your immune system.  Eating foods with Protein will help strengthen your immune system to fight off germs, bacteria, and infection in the body. So, there you have it; it’s not the chicken noodle soup that helps eliminate a cold, it’s the chicken that’s really doing the work. I enjoy making a big pot of chicken noodle soup during the cold winter season, it just warms my soul and nurture’s my immune system. During flu season, be intentional about increasing your protein intake. This will help you and your family to prevent getting sick or even recover much faster if you do get sick.

Agreed. What a great subject for discussion. I think there might be a lot more to say
